Sponsorship
Riverview Park and Zoo hosts over a quarter of a million visitors a year. A majority of our visitors come from outside the City of Peterborough. Our visitor audience of families will associate your business with our brand of conservation, high standards of animal welfare and advocacy, collaborative research, rehabilitation of natural habitats and reintroducing species, accessibility and education. Our miniature train ride attraction draws 10,000 to 60,000 riders a year.
Sponsorship of Riverview Park and Zoo ensures a free, accessible, outdoor educational public space that connects people to nature every day.
Help us with our goal to raise $10,000 for necessary upgrades to our various aviary exhibits, including the common peafowl.
Special Event Sponsor
The construction of many of our facilities and attractions has only been possible because of the generous contributions from local businesses, families and visitors like you. Riverview Park and Zoo Sponsors receive recognition from a loyal membership and a quarter of a million visitors a year.
Investments made here ensure:
• Inclusive community events and educational programs
• Excellence in nature and animal care, wellness, preservation and rehabilitation
• Support for active outdoor play for everyone.

Building Safe Communities Initiative
We would like to acknowledge the support of Hydro One Network Inc. as a new community partner, and as the service provider in our community as of June 1, 2021.
“We are extremely grateful for the generous support through Hydro One’s Building Safe Communities program,” said Jim Moloney, Zoo Manager and Curator, Riverview Park and Zoo. “Closure has meant a significant loss in revenue, jobs, in-kind support and volunteers that we rely on annually to operate the only free-admission accredited zoo in Canada. The support will help us ensure a continued safe work environment for our staff and the animals in our care, as well as help us prepare the site to welcome regional visitors back safely, sooner. We look forward to ongoing partnership with Hydro One as we continue to build safe communities together.”

Guiding Principles
Recognition
The Riverview Park and Zoo recognizes and appreciates the generosity of businesses and organizations that invest in our facilities, programs and services. Recognizing the financial investment made by our sponsors demonstrates the importance of these partners in the fulfillment of our vision and plans. This policy will ensure appropriate and timely recognition for all sponsorships and gifts.
Standards
The following criteria will be used to determine which gifts will be recognized:
1. All sponsorships from corporations, foundations, associations and organizations will be recognized at the appropriate level and in a timely manner.
2. Accurate record-keeping will ensure that sponsorships given over time will also be recognized when the appropriate level has been reached.
3. Sponsors gift-in-kind will be listed in the appropriate category for the fair market value of their contribution.
4. Corporate sponsor requesting anonymity will be omitted from all public displays and publications.
Levels and Benefits
The RPZ Sponsorship Program will recognize partners by:
1. Official (tax) receipt
2. Gifts exceeding $100 will result in the donors name displayed on the RPZ Sponsor sign for one year.
3. A permanent donor recognition installation, listing contribution $5,000 and greater to the Park and Zoo, will be established in an appropriate central location.
4. Sponsor Recognition for each category will meet a predetermined level benefit.
Each private sector partner who commits resources (monies and/or in-kind resources) to support a specific project or activity, will receive recognition benefits at the appropriate level.
