Riverview Park and Zoo

Spanning over 55 acres of park area along the shores of the Otonabee River, Riverview Park and Zoo is proud to be Canada's only FREE-admission accredited zoo, open daily from 8:30 a.m. until dusk all year round. 

We offer 25 animal exhibits, with more than 40 different species and over 150 animals calling us home. For instance, come see the camels, lynx, reindeer and yak enjoying the outdoors, or check out what the squirrel monkeys, sloth, and meerkats are up to through their exhibit viewing windows. 

Every day at 1:30 p.m. you can also stop by our North American River Otter Exhibit to see the otters receive their afternoon enrichment snack and have the chance to ask one of our zookeepers some questions. 

Do you have a favorite animal here at the zoo? Consider a symbolic animal adoption! Adoption packages include a thankyou letter from the Park and Zoo Curator, a personalized adoption certificate, an animal fact sheet and animal photo. Your name will also proudly appear on the electronic sign outside of Guest Services for the duration of your one-year membership.

Calling all high school students needing to complete their volunteer hours, or current Grade 8 students wanting a jump start for Grade 9!  We invite you to join our large team of volunteers this summer. Begin the application process and submit your form for review today! 

Being an entirely outdoor facility, be sure to check the forecast ahead of your visit and come dressed and prepared for the weather. Winter operating hours are currently in effect until the Victoria Day weekend in May.
