Partnerships
We are proud of the great work in conservation and nature protection happening locally. We support and benefit from many partnerships in the community.
Ontario Regional Conservation Authority
We work closely with the Conservation Authority to ensure the protection of our source water, and the rehabilitation of shorelines and watersheds. Together we offer educational programs like the Roberta Bondar Challenge, the Seasonal Conservation Exhibit, public events and tours of the creek restoration projects on site.
Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre
Riverview Park and Zoo has been a supporter of the OTCC since the beginning when the centre was located in the Dobbin Building. We continue to support one another with shared equipment and supplies, programming and conservation efforts like research, and rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned turtles.
GreenUP
We are proud supporters of many programs run by GreenUP, our local environmental resource and partner on many initiatives and programs like the Blue W program that promotes tap water as a healthly accessible alternative to purchasing plastic water bottles.
Peterborough Children’s Water Festival (PCWF)
The festival held annually on the grounds and is a project of the Peterborough Utilities Commission. This 3-day festival teaches schoolchildren about the wonders and importance of water through active learning and outdoor play.
Camp Kawartha
We are a part of the Pathways to Stewardship program by delivering educational programs like the Classroom Pet Program. The program teaches responsible animal care and curiosity for schoolchildren.
